Maryland businesses join the Maryland Chamber to support our advocacy efforts, connect business leaders and government officials and stay informed about the issues that impact Maryland businesses. The Maryland Chamber helps member companies succeed by aggressively lobbying state government and providing members with opportunities to build a strong network of professional contacts, connect with key policy-makers, and stay informed about the issues that impact Maryland employers.

The Maryland Chamber’s membership is comprised of business of every size, industry and region throughout the State. Many local chambers of commerce, trade groups, nonprofits and associations are also members of the Maryland Chamber.

Maryland Chamber membership dues are based on the number of full-time equivalent employees your company has in Maryland. Non-profit, government, associations and local chambers of commerce should contact the Maryland Chamber for special rates.

The Maryland Chamber does not hold monthly networking events like many local chambers do. But our major events connect members to some of the regions top leaders from the private and public sectors. We also hold regional meetings during the year at locations across the state. Attending events and participating on Maryland Chamber committees are great ways to meet executives from Maryland Chamber members. In addition, personal introductions from Chamber staff and ambassadors help maximize the value of Maryland Chamber membership

Any employee of a member company may sign up to receive updates from the Maryland Chamber. Each employee may customize which updates they receive and opt-out at any time. Communications frequency depends on the time of year. During the legislative session, from January to April, the Chamber communicates with its members multiple times each week, keeping them up to date on the events in Annapolis.

During the rest of the year, Chamber members receive information about upcoming events, Chamber initiatives and other relevant news. In addition, the Chamber bi-weekly email newsletter, the Business Advocate, is sent every other Thursday. Members can customize their email preferences, selecting whether or not to receive event updates, legislative updates and the Business Advocate. 

Like Maryland Chamber communications, any employee of a Maryland Chamber member may participate on Chamber committees. The only committee that is invitation only is the Legislative Committee. Learn more about committees.

All chambers of commerce operate independent of one another. Get connected to the Maryland Chamber for statewide legislative advocacy, timely communications on key legislative issues, and statewide events that attract leaders from the private and public sectors.

Trade associations are vitally important when it comes to protecting your interests in industry- specific issues. The Maryland Chamber works very closely with trade associations, many of whom are members of the Maryland Chamber, to forge consensus on business issues. The Maryland Chamber is the State’s leading advocate on broad-based employer issues including taxation, business regulation, health care affordability, workforce education, transportation funding, workers compensation, unemployment insurance, legal reform, environmental regulations, and other concerns.
